I'm surprised that no one really complains about Djokovic's stalling

Nadal has been getting heat from his opponents (Soderling in Wimbledon) for his stalling tactics between each serve, but it's getting tiresome to see Djokovic call out the trainer on every match that is giving him fits. I don't think I've seen him win a 4 or 5-setter without calling one. It's pretty sad that he's the chosen one to compete with the top 2 when he's pulling this cheap crap, not to mention the 20+ bounces per important point on his serve.

Always been known for his gamesmanship. Very talented, and seems a great guy off court aswell. But, funnily enough I reckon its his use of these tactics that plays a part in why he does so well against Nadal, and can challenge Roger. He's not in awe of either, and he's certainly not intimidated or frustrated by Nadal's stalling tactics because he's not afraid to do the same shit.

I do think it's cheap and wrong. I hate the stalling tactics. I wish their opponents would start complaining, and get the umpires to enforce the rules. That's the only thing that will stop them. They shouldn't be taking so long with these points. They both laugh their stalling tactics off as simply innocent habits/rituals but that's a load of shit.

Novak's a funny guy off the court, watching his impressions on youtube and the karaoke, but on the court he gets on my nerves. I could see him doing these rituals playing against Nadal, but he's done it against fast-paced players like Federer and Roddick. He's got a nasty serve, but it's not necessary to have a mind-fuck to the opponent on when he's releasing the ball. If he can serve on 5-6 bounces in the first game of the first set, then he's capable of doing it 6-6 in a tiebreaker.

I think that's maybe why he gets away with this crap since he's so likable, but I haven't seen these antics since the mid 90's with Jeff Tarango. And surprisingly, everybody is hush hush about it. Maybe when he starts winning these slams there will be a closer spotlight on his little things, and I'll be looking forward to seeing if he will pulling them off with the world watching.

bingo

The tennis world is so desparete for a new emerging star that its willing to turn a blind eye to his nonsense. But as you state, once he wins a GS, he too will be under the microscope.

I cant stand his bs ball bouncing, trainer tactics, so much so I root agasint him. Sounds silly but I don't care. He has so much talent, he doesnt need this garbage. His game is wonderful. A final match with Roger looms, hopefully it comes to fruition.:103631605

i only wish he lowered the bounce count. all the other stuff is within the rules.

but 18 bounces gets a little old..

i think he will eventually get it to under 10 every time.

he is a great talent.

his match against stepanek was one of my top 10 alltime.

"Djokovic’s pre-serve routine requires attention, too. When he faced a set point in the tiebreaker, for example, he kept dribbling the ball, 28 times in all.

Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce.

Eventually, he tossed the ball overhead -- and hit a fault. Before his second serve, Djokovic cut his total to 13 bounces, hit a 113 mph offering, and won the point.

“This is just a matter of concentration. I’m trying to really focus and not irritate anybody. Sorry if I’m a bit annoying," Djokovic said. “The thing is, I want to stay longer on this court, so that’s why I’m bouncing more and more."

Can you imagine waiting 28 bounces for a serve? Then he has the nerve to deny it.

I don't think its stalling, he bounces it around 15 times on his first serve on every point. I mean you can't call it stalling when you're up two sets and a break in the third. Yeah on critical points it tends to get over 20 but I its just a bad habit.

Its annoying as hell but hey what can you do. The tour should just tell him to reduce the bounces or find another job!
